Hit By The Unknown
August 09, 2012
For the last 24 hours or even more, the Philippines is currently experiencing heavy rainfall from an unknown because the heavy rainfall is not caused by any storm just yet. According to weather reports, the said rainfall is caused by Hanging Habagat or known to be the Southwest Monsoon to others thus the unknown since storm are always named from A to Z. Even if it was only Hanging Habagat it made a real chaos, a big one actually. Some roads are already impassable due to knee or chest deep floods on some areas, electricity supply was cut for the safety of the people especially from the flooded areas, families being rescued on top of their roofs, and a lot more.
Our electricity supply was cut at around 8 or maybe 9 in the morning last Tuesday and was back at around 2 or 3 in the afternoon yesterday but I am still very fortunate and thankful. Despite of having no electricity supply and a little supply of water for washing, my family and I are still safe and sound in the comfort of our house. Our house is situated at a higher place and it is also considered as the highest area in our place and just in case flood will reach us then that only means we are already living in a real life water world.
Here's some photos from both ends of our street which is taken by my hubby.

Anyway, on a lighter note since I was bored and while the babies are sleeping, I kind of took some photos to kill the negative vibes away.
A candle and prayers for everyone's safety |
As of writing, I can hear no rain outside but let us all still continue praying for everyone's safety because the real storm named "Helen" is due in a week time and that was according to news.
Oh Mister Sun, Sun,Stay safe and stay dry everyone.
Mister Golden Sun,
Please shine down on me
Oh Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Hiding behind a tree...
These little children
Are asking you
To please come out
So we can play with you
Oh Mister Sun, Sun,
Mister Golden Sun,
Please shine down on me!

I like the concept of prayers on a candlelight; it's so solemn and it adds a mellow dramatic effect to the picture. Good thing you got the electricity back. God bless the Philippines.
ReplyDeleteOh Lord, hear our prayers...
I hope the suns come back the flooding is becoming scary. I had so many detours yesterday just to get home.
ReplyDeleteLet us all keep praying that the real typhoon will not hit the Philippines.
DeleteReally bad circumstances you are in; I am stuck to the TV for updates and seems like its not getting any better soon. Hope you are doing just finr now...
ReplyDeleteGood thing you had TV as for us we are really blind and deaf because our electricity supply was cut.
DeleteThe rain is grrrr.. I just cant stress it further.. i just really really really hate it since it ruined the bloggers meet event ive made.. lol but i hope that you're safe there sis.. im lucky that we've got no floods in our area, but i feel sad to those who have experienced it
ReplyDeleteYea! You organized a bloggers meet up pala :( No worries baka next time madami na mag-join kaya hindi natuloy.
DeleteIt's crazy how torrential rain can bring so much catastrophe in our nation. We were isolated from the city last Tuesday because of the high floods outside to the village. We were still lucky though because we were not severely affected.
ReplyDeleteStay safe!

there are lots of natural disasters nowadays all over the world. people need to be prepared for them before they happen, maybe by creating programs at schools and local centers to teach kids and adults how to cope and survive.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. Its better to be prepared than sorry.
DeleteGrabe talaga to. :( Nakakawa un mga taong naapektuhan. Let's all pray for them.
ReplyDeleteTrue. Tama! Let's all pray for everyone's safety.
