The 100 Peso Challenge

Hey everyone! It is exactly 45 days until Christmas and to be really honest I haven't even started on decorating the house as well as my Christmas shopping. Oh well, I still have 45 days to go to decorate and buy presents for the love ones. Anyway, while I was  doing my laundry the other day I am also making a list of who and what present to give them and boy I really got a long one, hahaha. From that, I decided to do a little challenge wherein I am going to spend a maximum of 100 peso each person on my list for their Christmas present. I am not being "kuripot" (cheapstake) out here so please do not get me wrong. I just felt like challenging myself and to also let me give presents that are valuable and functional. In short, I am just being practical and a wise spender thus the evolution of "The 100 Peso Challenge."

I won't be sharing all the stuff that I bought until Christmas Eve or the day after just so I won't spoil the surprise. However, I am inviting everyone of you to join me on my challenge by simply posting the stuff that you have bought for a maximum of 100 pesos - a haul, food, etc - on Instagram and do not forget to use the hashtag #MLS100PesoChallenge.

Just to be clear, this is not a giveaway but I will be picking maybe 1 or 2 participants who will really make me go wow. So be creative and frugal because you will never know if it'll be you who will attract me.

  1. Haha sayo 100 sa akin 500 peso challenge every Christmas since 2011. I mean 500 pesos for ALL my friends and family. That's a lot of people - 30-50 (office mates, mother and father-side relatives, etc.).

  12. Aww, I usually buy special gifts so this will be a real challenge for me. Money-wise, I think this is a great way to be spend less. But I think if I'm going to spend just a hundred, might as well make it creative. Hehe

  13. 100 pesos is okay. It is the thought that counts. Ako nga sa 99 only na Japan store nabili kasi daming choices dun na mura pero parang hindi 99 ang presyo kundi higit pa. Good luck sa challenge na yan. Push mo yan

  14. Sounds interesting! This challenge would be much easier if one knows where to go to but stuffs less than 100 pesos. Thus 99store or Daiso rings a bell? :)

  16. Actually you can buy a lot with that budget if you will shop in Divisoria, Tutuban or Baclaran where you can even request "tawad" discounts to sellers.

  20. I like this challenge and might even partake in it. What I'd like to do, however, is to make crafts that will cost less than a hundred bucks for people I'll be giving gifts to. Hopefully they'd appreciate the effort. Good luck!

  21. This is a really nice challenge! I like! :D I haven't done an official challenge yet, but it has been one of my mantras not to spend so much on Christmas gifts. I haven't tried under P100 yet, so I'll take on this! ;) Let's spread the frugal way of spending this holiday season! :D
